How do you revive a blog when you’ve neglected it for more than 12 months?
That’s a question I’ve been asking myself this summer while trying to justify paying a direct debit for a domain I’ve left dormant since 2017.
There once was a time when I’d happily take to the internet to wax lyrical about issues I was furious about, or things that had inspired me and deserved to be celebrated. Then I realised I was spending every waking minute of my life connected to the internet and was actually getting headaches staring at the screen.
Over the course of the past twelve months I’ve backed away from the screen, mostly. I don’t think you can spend two months solidly tweeting about Love Island and claim that you’ve had a digital detox, to be fair. My essays have been confined to 140, and then 280, characters. But my opinions and thoughts have still been knocking around in my head.
So, with a new school term fast approaching, perhaps it’s time to get back to business.
Let’s give this thing another go, shall we?
