The world’s second most popular male Canadian superstar is set to take Grafton Street by storm on Friday.
Michael Bublé will be on hand to reveal this season’s Brown Thomas Christmas windows before switching on the festive lights on the south side’s famous shopping street.
RTÉ’s very own Ryan Tubridy will be in charge of the proceedings, which will kick off at around 6pm.
Twitter has been hopping since the news was revealed, with numerous lads and lassies (though mostly lassies) expressing their sheer delight that the Canadian crooner will be back on Irish shores.
Bublé will also be joining Tubridy on the Late Late Show later in the evening to promote his latest offering, ‘Christmas’.
Turning on the Christmas lights seems to be some sort of rite of passage for famous faces.
The Saturdays punched the plunger on Oxford Street this year, following in the footsteps of other famous faces including Jim Carrey, Westlife and the Spice Girls. Justin Bieber hit the big switch at London’s Westfield Shopping Centre to the delight of hundreds of adoring fans.
Even X-Factor’s latest reject Kitty Brucknell has already booked her gig turning on the lights at Bluewater Shopping Centre in Kent.
Across the Atlantic they don’t do things by halves. Sheryl Crowe, Susan Boyle, Mariah Carey, Katherine Jenkins and Boyz II Men were all featured in the line-up for the 2010 Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony in New York city.
Will you be heading to Grafton Street to see Bublé switch on the lights? Which famous faces would you like to see flicking the switch?
